Political Cartoon
Opinions about events can
be written in editorials or shown visually in political cartoons. During
the American Revolution, both patriots and loyalists shared their perspectives
about the events surrounding the Revolution in illustrations. For this
component of the project, look at historic cartoons and answer the following
questions for each picture:
 |
 |
The Horse America
Throws his Master
|
Join or Die
|
-
What event does this cartoon
illustrate?
-
Did a patriot or a loyalist
create this cartoon?
-
What is the cartoonist’s point
of view, or opinion, about this event?
After answering these questions,
select one of the events that led to the outbreak of the American Revolution,
and create a colorful illustration that reflects your point of view regarding
this event.
